Translated by Thomas Bailey Saunders. Adolf Harnack calls this book a short and plain statement of the Gospel and its history. The lectures were delivered extempore to a class of students drawn from all the Faculties in the University of Berlin. A listener took them down in shorthand, and the close surprised the Professor with a complete report of what he had said. A few alterations transformed them into this book. A good readers copy.
