Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - In Südindien wurden in den 1950er bis 1970er Jahren sowohl in den Metropolen als auch ländlichen Gegenden zahlreiche Kinosäle gebaut. Ihre Architektur basiert auf einer ungewöhnlichen Mischung aus westlichen Einflüssen und lokalen Baustilen. Die kulissenhaften, stark farbigen Fassaden bilden einen Vorgeschmack auf das Kinoerlebnis im Saal, in dem sich extravagante Formen und Verzierungen fortsetzen und den Zuschauer bereits vor Filmbeginn auf die cineastische Welt einstimmen. Man kann diese Architektursprache als eine Art hybride Moderne bezeichnen.Viele dieser Kinogebäude sind noch im Originalzustand erhalten. Der Umbau zu Multiplexsälen hat allerdings in den Metropolen bereits begonnen. Die Aufnahmen von Haubitz+Zoche aus den Jahren 2010 - 2013 dokumentieren ein Stück Kinokultur, das in Europa und den USA zum Großteil schon verschwunden ist und auch in Indien immer mehr von kommerziellen Interessen verdrängt wird. Die Publikation wird durch den Kunstfonds Bonn gefördert.
