Original wraps. Condition: Very Good -. A very uncommon piece of anti-gambling literature, in its 1835 original printing. Issued by the Anti-Gambling Society of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, this slim "discourse" is one of the earliest to appraoch the problem of gambling as a medical condition. The wrappered 1st edition is solid, still tightly-bound and VG-, with light, inoffensive foxing scattered thruout the text and a bit of light staining at the lower margins. Its original covers (and possible endsheets) have been cleanly removed but all other pages and signatures are accounted for and the text is complete. Octavo, 59 pgs. including the Appendix.
