Seller: The Bark of the Beech Tree, Depoe Bay, OR, U.S.A.
Book
Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Gavin Row (illustrator). Book Club Edition. I don't know how many Richard Parkers there are, or were, out there (not including tigers), but I think there are, or were, at least three writers. One is a journalist (New York Times, etc.) and writer on politics and economics. One is the Richard (or R.J.) Parker who writes thrillers. And the other is this one, 1914-1990, who wrote children's books starting with the wonderful "Escape from the Zoo" (Sylvan Press, 1945). This "Wild Animals" book was published first in the UK by Brockhampton as "Paul and Etta", and by Nelson in the US the following year with this slightly strange new title. This is the Weekly Reader book club edition of that Nelson edition. There's a hint of spotting to the edges, but otherwise a fine copy in its pictorial laminated boards.

Boards are in excellent condition with nice sharp corners and straight binding. The spine ends are also very good. Pages are very good as well, with only a very small faint mark on the side edge of a couple of pages and a dog ear crease on a blank page at the end. A very nice little copy.
