Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Copenhagen: Informations Forlag, 1977. (9 1/2 x 8 in., 24.2 x 20.2 cm). 272pp. First edition. 5th printing. Text in Danish. Original photographically illustrated folding wrappers (light extremity wear, spine with single light crease, front cover with very light bend, rubbing, internally near fine, a nice copy). "Holdt's words and pictures - unsophisticated, raw, yet heartfelt, immediate and powerful - combine to give a personal, sometimes naïve, yet persuasive analysis of the racism and class inequalities in American society, particularly in the 1960's, which was an especially inflammatory period in race relations. Holdt terms his analysis 'vagabond sociology', which means it is impassioned and committed rather than reasoned and objective." from Parr / Badger, "The Photobook", Vol. II, p. 247.
