Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: New. 1st Edition. This new copy is bound in faux blue calf with bright gilt titling to the spine and inset colour plate to the upper board. A dust wrapper is not called for. The text block is unmarked, tight, white, bright and square. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. This is a superb collection with general introductions, authored by acknowledged maritime historians. Lavishly illustrated in colour and black and white plates with maps as called for. There are also specially commissioned artworks. Definitely worth having in a nautical history library. This is just one title of the complete set of twenty two titles that I am selling on this site. This book provides a concise account of the Spanish Armada of 1588 and the naval struggle between Spain and England in the late sixteenth century. There are numerous period maps and other illustrations, mostly in colour, including some fine colour profiles of ships, and some good contemporary pen and ink drawings. This is an accessible, well designed book. Ref TFC.
