The most common explanation for this is that Bacon's rise to high office would likely have been hindered if it was known that he wrote for the public stage. Written by Sir Edwin Durning-Lawrence, a British lawyer and Member of Parliament who is best known for his advocacy of the Baconian theory. In the original red cloth binding.
