Pictorial wraps, a paperback original. Issued as Lion Book 149. Old dampstains to edges, some rubbing, piece torn from the surface of the front cover (perhaps by sticker removal); just a good copy. Still, quite sound and serviceable, not as bad as it sounds.
Soft cover. Condition: Good +. Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket As Issued. True First Edition. Bad Boy was written by Jim Thompson and published by Lion in 1953. This is a First Edition and book number 149 in their numbering system. The book is in good + condition. Apparently there was a slight flaw in the binding of this particular copy . . . a small group of pages were not snuggly fit in. I can show the "defect" and email the photograph to you. This caused a bit of a separation, which I HAVE added a bit of glue to, but someone who knows what they're doing can probably make the book look even better. It's really not bad as it is . . . and it's a great read. I bought another copy to read. In essence the book is auto-biographical. I'm sure Thompson exaggerated some of the experiences a bit (C'mon . . . the man was a great thriller/mystery writer.) but this was never boring, frequently funny (though you wouldn't get that feeling looking at the cover), and gives you a really good look at growing up and struggling to make a living in the Southwest during the first third of the twentieth century. It's a rare book that is also a great read. Thank you!.
