About this Item: Candlewick, 2000. Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. Stated First Edition, First Printing with full number sequence down to 1. Fine/Fine condition with no medal on the dust jacket. This is the book that launched a remarkable career! THE AUTHOR'S FIRST BOOK was a 2001 NEWBERY HONOR BOOK and 2000 JOSETTE FRANK AWARD WINNER. The book inspired the very successful movie of the same name. Since its publication, Kate DiCamillo has gone on to become one of only six people ever to win the NEWBERY AWARD twice. She was later assigned the U.S. NATIONAL AMBASSADOR FOR YOUNG PEOPLE'S LITERATURE by the Library of Congress. This book is scarcely found in a first printing like this, made even more rare by the fact that it is SIGNED, not personalized, with the AUTHOR'S SKETCH OF WINN-DIXIE WAGGING HIS TAIL! This extremely collectible signed, first printing of Kate DiCamillo's award-winning first book is protected in a Brodart cover. Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 001666
