Richard George Fariņa (1937 ? 1966) was an American folksinger, songwriter, poet and novelist. Fariņa is best known for his novel Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me based largely on his college experiences and travels, a picaresque novel set in 1958 in the American West, in Cuba during the Cuban Revolution, and mostly at Cornell University. The book has become a cult classic among fans of the 1960s and counterculture literature.

The books is dedicated to Richard Farina's wife, Mimi Farina. Fine bight blue green boards in close to fine and quite attractive dust jacket with back cover photograph of the author by David Gahr, one of the proficient photographers of the folk music scene of the 1960s. Overall, a wonderful production.
