First Edition. BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA SHOFAR AWARD consisting of a cast sterling Shofar Amulet attached to a blue and white striped ribbon. It's housed in a highly decorated gold-gilt floral custom full leather slip-case with leather labels lettered in gold-gilt in red cloth chemise. Recipients of this award have won a recognition of the individual who has best answered the call to serve Jewish youth in Scouting and is given to those who do not actively seek it. Charles Feinberg, the former premier Walt Whitman collector, bibliophile and philanthropist, worked with Boy Scouts to help initiate them to great literature. He received this award in 1966.
