Blue cloth, lettered in gold at the spine and upper board with a gilt- and red-stamped decorative design. Top edge gilt. With a tissue-protected colour frontispiece, 59 colour plates with captioned tissue protectors, one black and white plate, and one folding four-panel address. A little wear to the backstrip ends and the cloth at the spine fractionally darkened. Fore- and bottom edge lightly spotted and the free endpapers lightly browned and spotted. A minor slant to the binding. A very good copy.

Foldout copy of the document presenting the watercolours to the King and Queen. Appendix of colours used by members and associates of the Royal Society of Painters in Water-Colours. Incredibly beautiful front cover and spine stamped in gold and orange. Cover is clean and bright as is the contents. Cover is rubbed a little at corners, has a little wear at base of spine cloth and several spots at edges of front have some condition or deterioration of the sizing . Very good or better.

Publishers original cream cloth, with gilt lettering to front cover and spine, other decoration to both. Top edge gilt with bevelled edges to boards. There are 61 illustrations each with a tissue protector. There is a further 'illustration', this being a facsimile of the Address to the Presentation. There is some dulling to the spine, the gilt not being as bright as the cover, otherwise a sumptuous volume.

With a colour frontispiece, folding facsimile, and sixty full-page colour plates by various artists from the Royal Society of Painters. Collated complete. An interesting work on the history of watercolour painting in Great Britain, including the first watercolour society, different techniques, the coronation gift to King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, and more. Marcus Bourne Huish was an English barrister, writer and art dealer. He was the editor of 'The Art Journal', from 1881 to 1892. The half title page is present. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the extremities. Spine is darkened. Light bumping to the spine. Marks to the boards. The front hinge is starting but still firm. Light spotting to the free endpapers. Discreet blindstamp for, 'Neatham Mill Library', to the rear free endpaper. Internally, binding slightly strained but still generally firm. Pages bright and clean with some light age-toning to the edges. The odd handling mark throughout. Author's signature to the limitations page. Very Good. signed by author. book.
