First edition, early printing, of this noted cartoonist's best collected comic depicting the trials and tribulations, and often vagaries of management in working machine shops during the Great Depression, and into World War II. Of particular interest, are the many cartoons lampooning more experienced, and older machinists as "Rosie the Riveter" women swelled machine shop workforces during World War II. Many focus on the petty resentments, and frequent misunderstandings, as well as the greater productivity of women machinists newly trained expanded production. Uncommon in original dustjacket.
