This is a 1970 book club edition. A novel of WWI by the author of 'The Flight of the Phoenix'. Two brothers, Aubrey and Victor Talbot, in the trenches of France, each with different reasons for being there, and each having a different outcome. The dust jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover, though it had been taped to the boards with thin strips of masking tape. Tape is still attached to the boards. There is some rubbing wear and short crease marks to the top edge of the jacket . Blue boards are flat and the corners are not bumped or creased. Sewn binding is tight and square. Some dots of edge wear at the head and heel of the spine and at the tips of the corners. The edges of the text block are clean. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. This is not a library discard. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
