Translated from the Polish by Witold Ostrowski. A monograph about Bernardo Bellotto (1720-1780, called "Canalleto the Younger"), court painter to the king of Poland, Stanislaus II Augustus Poniatowski. His paintings recorded the features of Warsaw, the architecture, the street scenes, and Polish Society, at the time Warsaw was becoming one of the most beautiful cities of Northern Europe. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
