Seller: Autumn Leaves, Allentown, PA, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Fourth Printing. A clean, tight copy of the fourth impression. It is an attractive book to look at, with a medallion image of the late, lamented Old Man of the Mountain on the front board, and maps of New Hampshire on the endpapers. The book is quite pristine, with no signs of prior use. The paper has tanned to a creamy hue, but is not brittle. A former owner's name, dated 1923, is written on the back of the copyright page in light pencil. There are no other markings. The binding is very lightly worn at the top and tail of the spine and at the corners. The gilt stampings have dimmed a bit. Having not seen the first printing, I can't compare, but since this is described as the fourth impression and not as a new edition, my guess is that they look the same or very similar. Scanned images on request.
