Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Boston, MA, Little Brown, 1959. First edition. 8vo. Light blue cloth with black and brown lettering embossed on spine, 241 pp. This is the story of Duke's life, told in his own vernacular: colloquial, ungrammatical, crude and sometimes rhapsodic. With the exception of flashbacks to his childhood in Georgia, it centers on his people, his desire for a gun of his own, and the meaningless, compulsive violence that ends, inevitably, in a shocking murder. Spine sunned at top and bottom, owner name, dust jacket spine chipped at top and bottom, otherwise this book is in remarkably good condition, clean, bright, appears gently read. Very good in a very good dust jacket, protected by a mylar cover.

Soft cover. Condition: Good. 160 pp. Wraps yellowed, lightly creased, a little scattered spotting, small sticker to front. Spine lightly creased. Leaves tanned.
