Soft cover. Condition: As New. Jim Burns (illustrator). 1st Edition. Magnificent copy of this Collier 1993 first print trade paperback - unread and straight from the original publisher's warehouse! Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Book Club Edition. If you want a great Harlan Ellison collection, you want "Deathbird Stories". But the 1975 first edition was famously "set from outdated, imperfect versions of the manuscripts", so you'll want the corrections made in the 1983 Bluejay trade paper edition. But if you like to read and re-read a book, you'll want the 1984 SFBC hardcover version of the Bluejay edition. And THIS is a great copy of that edition because it is signed, with no personalization or inscription, by author Harlan Ellison on its title page. This book is in near fine condition, marred only by light bumps on its covers' spine ends and front bottom corner. Its binding is sound and square, with no spine crease. Covers are unmarked and otherwise unworn. Pages are unworn and otherwise unmarked. Not a remainder. Its dust jacket, now protected by a removable mylar cover, is also in near fine condition: whole, bright, and unmarked, with light wear and a short closed edge tear on the bottom of its spine, but otherwise unworn. I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its new owner in the same condition as my description. Signed by Author(s).
