The text block ends have darkened; the top end has foxing. Two page margins each have a light stain, 1/4 in. and a linear 1/2 in. The top margin of the portrait plate has foxing, which has also darkened the top margin of the title page. DJ: The front panel states, "At Christmastide, the lonely doctor man . won his fight for proper care of the little ones -- and for his own unhappy heart found love and joy."
