First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: very good. First edition. First edition (no statement as is correct). Light green cloth. 284 pp. Illustrated. Fine, bit of offsetting to the endpapers. In better than usually found original dust jacket, very good or somewhat better, minor wear to the extremities. Autobiographical account of one of baseball's most colorful figures, Leo "The Lip" Durocher, during his days with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Leo played for the Bums from 1939 to 1948, acting as player-manager during tha time. An advocate of bringing Jackie Robinson to the majors, Durocher would have been his manager had he not been suspended in spring training for the entire 1947 season for "unsavory relationships" with questionable characters.

Book First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. A very good copy of the presumed first hard cover edition (no explicit edition or printing statement) in a good+ (not price-clipped) dust-jacket, inscribed and signed by the author on the corner of the photograph page: "To my good friend Bill Wilson from Leo Durocher." Probable recipient was Bill Wilson who played for the Chicago White Sox and the Philadelphia/Kansas City Athletics. The text is wholly unmarked, pristine, and the green cloth binding with gilt lettering is bright and fresh in appearance. Section of the jacket at the top of the spine and adjacent areas of front and rear panels is missing, and there is some fraying and chipping at the tips. A sharp copy. Inscribed by Author(s).
