Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. First Edition First Printing. A "Jumbo Book" with 2-Books-in-One: the Grimm book (285 pp) contains 44 tales, while the Andersen book contains 26 stories (331 pp). Pen-and-ink illustrations throughout, artist unattributed. No publication date, but c. 1930s. Hardcover small 8vo has royal blue cloth over boards stamped & lettered in orange to front & spine. Condition is VG: very clean, text block strong & secure, but front hinge was cracked & reglued. Pages all show heavy tanning & are becoming brittle, typical of the paper of the period. Old gift inscription to ffep. Exterior boards show rubbing to extremities, heaviest at both ends of spine. Red top stain bright, dust dulling to fore edge.
