Maroon pictorial cloth depicting and angel with a scythe on the front, lettering and decoration in gilt and white, just over 6 inches tall. Clearly designed as a Christmas gift, it has a loose slip of paper printed " With every good wish for Christmas and the New Year from". Published by Collins Clear-type Press. No date but probably early 20th Century. Dust Jacket: original glassene wrapper, present but with some erosion to spine and rubbing to all edges. Cover: white paper with fold-in flaps over plain white card; colour image of lovers in garden, by MacLaoid; very clean and bright for its age, 1cm tear to top of front spine; some creasing to spine; otherwise in remarkable condition for its age. Internally: very clean and soundly bound; no inscriptions, markings or book plates; some darkening to page edges; marbled end papers. Colour Frontispiece. 96 pp.
