Near fine book with minor wear to top and bottom of spine and very light foxing to upper face of text block. A very good, price-clipped jacket because of a slim band of foxing/curling to upper edge (most noticeable on flaps) and two short tears to upper left corner of front panel, the largest a half inch. The front and back panels are otherwise clean and present great. From collection of Arthur P. Morgan, a friend of McPhee, who worked in finance, was a fellow Deerfield Prep and Princeton University graduate, and then a neighbor. Among other civic activity, Morgan was on the board of the Princeton Public Library.

McPhee s second book, a stirring portrait of Boyden, who was Headmaster of the prestigious Deerfield Academy in western Massachusetts from 1902-1968. Scarce signed by McPhee and by both Frank and Helen Boyden.
