Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Hardback. 4to. pp 181, one folded map. Original publisher's dark green cloth, lettered gilt at the spine. 'The Periyar project', as it was then known, was widely considered well into the 20th century as "one of the most extraordinary feats of engineering ever performed". Spine rebacked very neatly, otherwise very good indeed.

On the half-title is an ex-dono note by the author '' Ronald Mackenzie from his affectionate Grandfather 1923 '' ( in a rather wobbly handwriting). Fine association copy of the first edition.
