Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Neville, Vera (illustrator). 1st ed. NAP, 8vo, full cream tweed cloth printed in red, illlustrated in grayscale by Vera Neville. A lively mystery of colonial days seen from the perspective of young Miss Nellie's body servant (aka slave) Susannah as they travel from Mount Vernon to New York before the American Revolution. The implication is that Miss Nellie's grandfather (The General) is none other than George Washington, but Susannah and her adventures are the center of the plot.
