Elliott Roosevelt (1910-1990) was the son of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt. He served as a U.S. Army Air Corps officer during World War II, earning the rank of Brigadier General. Elliott had a tumultuous personal life marked by multiple marriages and struggles with alcoholism. Despite his familial connections, he often found himself at odds with his parents, particularly his father, due to their differing political views and his own rebellious nature. Elliott Roosevelt authored several books, including a series of detective novels and memoirs recounting his experiences in the military and his relationship with his famous parents. Eight of the novels were published during his lifetime, with the remaining sixteen after his death in 1990, which were completed by his friend, William Harrington.
