First edition. William Heinemann, London. 1954. Hardback with dust-wrapper. 237 pages. V. sl. wear to top edge of dust-wrapper which has sl. sunned spine; page edges foxed. A nice copy. Cataloguer's note: Jaime de Angulo was a good friend of the anthropologist Alfred Louis Kroeber, father of the novelist Ursula Le Guin, and was a frequent house-guest in the family home when the young Ursula was growing up. I was once fortunate enough to meet Le Guin and after we had concluded our business I asked her if she remembered de Angulo; it was very lovely to see how her face warmed and softened on hearing his name; she had very fond memories of him.
