This is an abridgement by Timothy Baker of the four volumes of "A History of the English-Speaking Peoples" by Sir Winston Churchill. Britain's two-thousand-year history as told by the matchless Sir Winston Churchill and with superb full color illustrations on un-coated paper, and b/w illustrations and maps throughout. Colorful and bright pictorial wrappers are clean and unmarked, with a small tear to the front corner of the lower spine corner, chipping to spine head and slight corner wear. Glued binding is tight and solid. Internals are clean, pages toned, more so on edges; page7 has the fore edge folded over because the originally printed page is too wide; page 9 has an oval pale stain on the fore edge, half inch long; next few pages have very pale stain at lower corner. Rest of pages unmarked, no creases. Sir Winston Churchill's deep comprehension of the long history of Britain's turbulent past and his superb mastery of the English language make this a remarkable book. 309 pages. 7.5 x 10 inches.
