La maison d'éditions Frédéric Chambriand a été fondée par Pierre Monnier en 1949, et a disparu en 1952 - Edition Originale sortie chez Frédéric Chambriand ( Paris 1951 ) ici sans grands papiers est revisité dans sa décoration par les éditions Denoël , ainsi qu'en témoigne le papillon " Editions Denoël" contre collé ici en bas de la page de faux titre. Pierre Monnier publia en tout et pour tout une vingtaine de livres, dont Louis-Ferdinand Céline , qu'il rencontra en septembre 1948 au Danemark, décidant à son retour de publier l'exilé .
