Volume protected in clear pastic; lacking original yellow slipcase. Inscribed by Hans K. Roethel and Jean K. Benjamin on the ffep. Light foxing to edges, at the head of the half-title page and final four leaves, else internally bright and clean. Profusely illustrated, with numerous B&W in-text illustrations throughout and 48 colour plates tipped in. 2nd edition (1ST French Edition), printed on October 10, 1977. Text by Hans Konrad Roethel. Translated by Isabelle de Botton.

A very solid copy to boot of the 1970 1st edition of the catalogue raisonne of Kandinsky's graphic works. Tight and Near Fine in a bright, VG dustjacket, with mild darkening --and a bit of scuffing-- along the spine and light soiling at the rear panel. Still though, handsome and very presentable. #209 of 1,500 copies issued. Thick quarto, 504 pgs., including hundreds of illustrations (a number of them fold-outs). Also includes a solid, well-preserved copy of the publisher's cardboard slipcase. Signed by Author.
