Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. What really surprises me about this controversial novel is how infrequently its first line crops up in books and articles on great first lines. "Mr. Blingham, and may he fry in his own cooking-oil, was assistant treasurer of the Flaver-Saver Company." Worth a mention, don't you think? This copy of the first printing is very good indeed, with just a hint of browning to edges and endpapers, and a touch of fading to the red stained top edge. Dust jacket is very good with quite worn and chipped edges and some small loss to top of spine. JS.
