Un des 440 exemplaires sur vélin de Ries B.F.K. numérotés (n°329), 1 vol. in-8 oblong cartonnage éditeur crème, NRF, Gallimard, Paris, 1945, CXIX pp. Extraordinaire exemplaire provenant de la bibliothèque de l'écrivain bordelais Michel Suffran, et truffé par celui-ci d'un souvenir dont il expose l'origine dans un beau document (tapuscrit daté de janvier 2002 et corrigé à la main en deux endroits) joint : "Ce lieu marqué d'une étoile. avant même d'être un lieu, Arcachon - le Bassin d'Arcachon - brille en moi ainsi qu'une lumière. Oui, une sorte de lueur palpitant sur l'horizon. J'émergeais à peine de l'enfance et du labyrinthe d'un Bordeaux "occupé", enténébré d'un perpétuel couvre-feu. Des amis de mes parents possédaient, au Petit Piquey, juste au borde de la plage, ce que nul ne songeait alors à baptiser "une villa", mois encore une "résidence secondaire", tout juste une "cabane" [Suit une longue description ] "Le tableau que j'esquisse ici demeurerait incomplet sans le sceau d'un enchanteur" [ . ] "Je ne sais comment un entrefilet du journal local m'apprit que son héros [ de L'Eternel retour ], Jean Marais, séjournait à Piquey. J'en étais encore à cet âge où l'on croit que l'Olympe descend volontiers, porté par des rayons de lune, au creux de temples obscurs ! Ainsi, je me revois, tout ému, posté dans une allée semée d'aiguilles de pins, tendant au chevalier casqué de blond une carte postale acquise au buraliste du coin. Tandis que, de bonne grâce, il y déposait sa griffe, le personnage qui l'accompagnait me parut plus fascinant encore : frêle, boucané, magnétique, coiffé d'une sorte de tiare électrisée d'une masse de cheveux argentés, vêtu d'un ample peignoir strié de blanc et de bleu, s'appuyant d'une admirable main osseuse sur un sceptre aussi tourmenté qu'un cep de vigne. Au dos du misérable carton, il laissa son empreinte paraphée d'une étoile. J'étais jeune alors et ne connaissais guère le nom de Jean Cocteau. Mais cette étoile au ciel arcachonnais fut la première à éclore, annonciatrice d'une constellation de Poésie qui, depuis, ne cesse de m'éblouir". Michel Suffran a collé en garde volante une petite pochette en papier cristal permettant d'insérer la fameuse carte postale ("Les Jacquets, Bassin d'Arcachon") signée par Jean Marais ("Bonne chance !") et Jean Cocteau ("Souvenir de Jean Cocteau *"). Coupée en deux, la carte a été restaurée à l'adhésif, et ainsi adaptée à cette belle édition probablement contemporaine (en 1945) de la rencontre. Un témoignage très remarquable et émouvant (cartonnage lég. frotté, traces en garde de l'adhésif d'une ancienne protection des couvertures, très bon état par ailleurs). Langue: Français. signé par l'auteur.
Condition: Très bon état. in-8 oblong, cartonnage éditeur avec le titre gravé en lettres d'or au dos et sur le plat supérieur, gardes de papier rose, 120 pp. Édition originale de ce long poème composé par un dormeur éveillé pour sa muse Léone aux pattes de lionne. Cette pièce de 600 vers est superbement imprimée par Darantière et ornée de deux lithographies inspirées de l'auteur. Un des 35 exemplaires de tête numérotés sur Annam, accompagnés de deux suites, l'une en noir, l'autre en sanguine, des lithographies. En parfaite condition.
