The famed hunter, explorer and author Robert Foran (1881-1968) spent his final years at the Sportsmans Arms in Nanyuiki, Kenya, and he penned most of his works there. As always, the sport of hunting eas mixed with pleasure and profit, Foran , himself an accomplished elephant hunter and sold his haul of ivory for a good profit. He describes his fellow elephant hunters- he knew most of them- except real old timers like Sir Samuel Baker and William Cotton Oswell. But many others like W.D.M.Bell, Andy Anderson, James Sutherland, Samaki Salmon, Arthur Neumann and Frederick Jackson and he describes their exploits here. He also knew many other legendary characters like J.A. Hunter., Anthny Dyer, Tony Archer, Tony Seth Smith, Alan Binks, Pete Peterson, Andrew Holmberg, Bunny Allen, Ewart Grogan and a host of other well known personalities. This volume is signed by two of his friends, the late Tony Dyer and Tony Archer. It is presented by the publisher to Mark Harris of Wolfe Publishing to promote the book which appears to be unread. Large format 7 1/2"x10 1/2" tall, 319 pages, very good volume in very good dust jacket protected with clear mylar wrap.
