Illustrated by a frontispiece of Seeger. Enser 158. The author, an American poet and the uncle of the well-known folk musician and activist Pete Seeger, joined the French Foreign Legion and was killed in action on July 4, 1916 at the Battle of the Somme. A Near Fine book with a few hints of rubbing to the boards and a 1917 inscription on the free front endpaper.
