Little Lulu first appeared as a comic panel during the mid 1930s in the Saturday Evening Post. A comic strip and children's books followed. Color and B&W illustrations; Possible First Edition: There are no other Lulu books listed on the rear dust jacket flap and the last date listed is 1939. Without the dust jacket flap price, it's impossible to verify. This book is in Very Good condition and has a Good only dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. The spine ends, corners and edges of the book covers have some light bumping and rubbing. The text pages are clean and bright. Illustrated throughout with both black and white and full color illustrations. The price clipped dust jacket has edge wear, nicks, rubbed spots and several small and medium sized chips missing. The flap joints are noticeably rubbed and have small bits missing. "Little Lulu is a comic strip created in 1935 by Marjorie Henderson Buell. The character, Lulu Moppet, debuted in The Saturday Evening Post on 23 February 1935 in a single panel, appearing as a flower girl at a wedding and mischievously strewing the aisle with banana peels. Little Lulu replaced Carl Anderson's Henry, which had been picked up for distribution by King Features Syndicate. The Little Lulu panel continued to run weekly in The Saturday Evening Post until 30 December 1944.".
