Book
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. Kate Seredy (illustrator). Reprint. A fine novel from this excellent writer of so-called "realistic children's fiction". Her best-known book probably being 1940s "Blue Willow". "Little Vic" is a story about a horse and the young colored lad who struggles to become the jockey to ride him in horse races. Kirkus described it as "One of the most affecting - and believable - boy and horse stories we have seen for some time". First published by Viking in 1951, this is the third printing of the 1968 Archway Paperback edition. Name inside front cover and a narrow strip of fading to rear cover, but a near fine, tight, unread copy.
