Inscribed by a friend/lover to the artist Beatrice Findlay on the back of the front cover dated Jan 3/53. THEN WITH A FULL PAGE INK INSCRIPTION BY GROSZ ON THE BLANK F.E.P., "To Beatrice Findlay (elaborate lettering) to remember her teacher in the noble art-a little lost ART too-of drawing from life. WITH A LARGE CLEAR SIGNATURE AND HIS CROSSED BRUSHES. NY May 1953" All within a drawn ink frame. Grosz often gifted his students with a copy of his work, but this is the most elaborated inscription we've seen. Findlay had a long career as an artist on the West Coast.(L1/8).
