Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. pp: 186 [17]. Bound in light blue pictorial dust jacket, over darker blue cloth covered boards, with an illustration in black on the top board. This copy has been signed by the author on the free endpaper. He has added a generic inscription. The Casino was not a gambling venue, but a popular dance hall and summer destination for locals, cottagers and tourists. The hall was opened in 1917 and featured the Guy Lombardo Orchestra. Most of the big name musicians and bands of the era played at the Lakeview. The text combines vintage photographs with stories of the bands and other musicians, and the family that established the hall. The end for the hall came in the early 80s when the building burned to the ground. The appendices contain a list of both Canadian and American bands that played at the Casino, along with a general index. This is a very good copy in a dust jacket with a faded spine, and moderate edge wear, and rubbing. Signed by Author(s).
