Fine in about near fine dust jacket, except for the former owner's bookplate at half-title page, and an inch long closed tear to top right corner of dust jacket's rear panel.

Winner of the Newbery Medal. How will Miss Hickory survive the cold winter alone in her corncob house when her human family go away for the season? The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Jacket has shallow chips at the head and heel of the spine and tips of the corners, rubbing wear a the edges, a closed tear of about 1" on the top edge of the back panel. Very sturdy hard cover boards with the title in red on the spine. Very slight edge wear to the cover boards. Wonderful illustrations throughout by Ruth Gannett. Orange colored top-stain is a bit faded. Fore edge of the text block has some age foxing spots. Binding is tight and square. All text pages are intact and tightly bound. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. This is not a library discard copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
