Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Aldren Watson (illustrator). Second impression. A typically substantial fairy story from Mrs O'Faolain (she became an O'Faolain in 1929 when she married the more famous Sean - he must be more famous because he has a Wikipedia page and she hasn't, which doesn't seem fair to me but there it is). Nice production with Aldren Watson's splendid illustrations - chapter headings, full page, and initial letters - printed throughout in a fetching sage green. A few marks and worn areas on covers, mild spotting to endpapers and to the margin of a couple of leaves, but a very good copy. JS.

The "pooka" was Mickey Joe, a wonderful white horse, who was really half a fairy, who belonged to a dear old lady named Miss Letitia Pennyfeather.
