Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Konigsburg, E. L. (illustrator). First Edition, Stated. First printing. Ms. Konigsburg's first two books were published by Atheneum in 1967. It was a most stunning debut: this title won the Newbery Medal, and the other won a Newbery Honor award! Here is a very nice, Near Fine first printing of this much-loved Medal winner. The red cloth boards are tight, square, clean, no fraying or wear. Tidy previous owner name at top title page, no other marks. No handling / creasing to pages noted. There are two small, light stains on the left side of p 78. There is something similar on another spread, but in the bottom margin. The book is generally very clean but I saw these stains and perhaps there could be more, though I did fan through the book several times. No toning to pages; they are nice and bright. Dust jacket is clean and bright, no fading to spine, with just a bit of rubbing to tips and a short tear at top back fold. Original price intact and correct for a first printing ($3.95). No award sticker to jacket. Please see photos. Not Signed.
hardcover. Condition: fine. Dust Jacket Condition: fine. first. Stated first edition. Newbery Medal Winner. Book and dust jacket fine, some tanning to dj spine, former owner's inscription on half-title page.
