Seller: Albion Books, Irvine, CA, U.S.A.
Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. VG/NO DJ, hb, 8vo., 252 pgs. An unusual artifact of the silent movie era. This was the personal copy of early Hollywood female screenwriter Lotta Woods. It appears to be a production copy used by Woods while writing an unfinished screenplay for 'Monsieur Beaucaire', with marginal notations in her hand throughout that novelette. Signed by Woods on front pastedown (but not by Tarkington). FFEP and next eight pages have the bold purple stamp of 'From, Douglas Fairbanks Pictures Corp. Hollywood, Calif.' Woods is famous for writing the screenplays for two of Fairbanks' most famous roles--Robin Hood and The Thief of Baghdad. Gilt spine title is almost rubbed away.
