Paper Wraps. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. 207pp. 1885. First edition. 12mo. In original publisher's paper wraps with steel engraving of a man climbing a ladder. A good only copy of this very delicate but scarce publication. The whole housed in a near contemporary navy blue-cloth covered card slipcase. This slipcase with a paper title block - with the ink author's name and title to it (slight loss to one corner of title block). The book has a very neat contemporary owner's initials in ink to the half-title page. Only around 30-50 percent of the spine strip survives. A number of page corners to the head and tail have been turned (now largely unturned). There is significant splitting between two gatherings - the two 'halfs' of the book now holding by several cords. Several short tears to the peripheries of the front card cover - all expertly repaired. A good copy of a scarce first edition in a very original format.
