Dies gelang durch eine aufschlußreiche Sammlung von Photographien und kartographischen Aufnahmen der Region. Mallory, Bullock und Wheeler erreichten den North Col (6990 m). Dr. Kellas, der den Einsatz von künstlichen Sauerstoff in großen Höhen testen sollte, starb bereits während des Anmarsches.
