Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A VG++ bright copy of the first edition, June 1929, as stated on the copyright page, with no inscriptions and clean pages throughout the book. "America For Me" poem by Henry Van Dyke at the rear, as is called for. The cloth boards are lovely and bright orangey pink with black cloth spine; crisp black title lettering on the front board and reversed out orangey pink lettering on the black spine. There is some rubbing along the spine outer hinges and spine ends and also a little knocking and minor wear at the fore edge corner tips. Original orange-coloured end papers with silhouette head and shoulders motifs, matching that on the spine (presumably of Valentino himself!) Light toning to the end papers and, more especially, to the page block edge. Make no mistake though that, despite these few flaws, this is a truly splendid copy of this very scarce first edition.
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Light wear to cloth on spine.
Hard Cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. First Edition. Valentino recounts his belated honeymoon trip to Europe, though his wife, Natacha, leaves early; including a visit to his home town & reminiscences of youth. Stated first edition (first printing), though first published as a magazine serial. Hardcover. Book shows some wear, institutional rubberstamp cross-stamped 'Withdrawn' inside each cover, name rubberstamped on title page & last page (at least); a few gutter gaps; jacket worn & torn with much internalmending & reinforcement, faded spine; flyleaf tanned from old newspaper clipping, now removed but for one small corner. Text clean; [313] pages + Henry van Dyke poem, introduction by Michael L. Romano. Size: Small Octavo.

First Edition
313 pp. 8vo, publisher's cloth in dust jacket. First edition. There is some waterstaining to the last few leaves of the book and jacket. The book is not much affected, but the rear flap and back panel of the jacket do show some staining. Otherwise, a very good copy in a very good jacket.
