Description of the gold fields and authoritative particulars on the California conquest. Revere, the grandson of Paul Revere, came around the Horn, 1845-6 aboard the Sloop of War, Cyane, as lieutenant. While in command of the Sonoma military post, 1846, he purchased the estate of San Geronimo in Marin County, where he lived until 1851.
