Ongenummerd exemplaar op Rives met handgeschreven, gesigneerde opdracht van de uitgever op de pagina van de oplage: 'Hors Commerce/ Pour le Docteur F. Markus Huebner. Hommage amical de l'éditeur/ (handtekening)/ le 15 février 1926'. Crès (1875-1935) was een van de belangrijkste Franse uitgevers van de periode 1910-1930. Huebner (1886-1964), een Duitser die in Nederland woonde, schreef in die periode over kunst, in het bijzonder over expressionisme. Een toneelstuk van scheepsarts en dichter Segalen, wiens leven een voorafschaduwing van dat van Slauerhoff zou kunnen zijn. Segalen had twee jaar eerder op mysterieuze wijze zijn leven verloren. Het frontispice naar Moreau toont Orpheus, smachtend aanbeden door een eenhoorn.
