Internals clean, no marks, no creases. Guy de Maupassant's stories have a self-renewing vitality, assuming fresh force for each generation of readers with changing standards. A French short story writer and novelist of the 19the Century (1850-1893) and a sometimes member of the naturalist school (but mostly his own 'school' which is hard to classify). He chose for subjects chiefly from Norman peasant life, the Franco-Prussian War, the behavior of the bourgeoise, and the fashionable life of Paris. 320 pages. 5.25 x 8 inches.
