Unspecified limited edition of this Swedish-American's memoir of a visit to Lincoln sites, "A paper read before The Anvil Club Charleston, West Virginia March 8, 1951." Fine presentation inscription in black fountain pen on inside front wrapper: "This copy of my humble / tribute to Abraham Lincoln / is inscribed for / the Civil War Round Table / of New York / with sincere appreciation," signed and dated July 27, 1952. Accompanied by a meaty Typed Letter Signed from Hanson, 1p, 7¼" X 10 3/4", Charleston, WV, 27 July 1952. Near fine. Addressed to noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar Arnold F. Gates (1914-93). On personal imprinted letterhead, this United Carbon Company executive transmits this inscribed booklet to the "Lincoln Herald" book reviewer and long-time officer of the New York Civil War Round Table, adding: "I appreciate your kind invitation to sit in on one of your Round Table meetings when I am in New York and shall certainly avail myself of such an opportunity." Boldly signed in black ink. An unusual and interesting pair.
