Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a poetic drama that explores the boundaries of lust, revenge, and morality in 16th century Italy. The compelling tragedy at the heart of this work is woven with the themes of religious hypocrisy, familial duty, and revolution. From the outset, the author establishes the Count as a man corrupted by his power, having committed unspeakable acts that haunt the lives of his children, particularly his daughter Beatrice. In this exploration of human nature, the author delves into questions of good and evil, challenging societal norms and the concept of justice. This engrossing tale will captivate readers interested in historical drama, tragedy, and the complexities of the human condition. Duodecimo, 7 2/3" tall, vol. 1: xvii + 376 pages; vol. 2: viii + 432 pages; vol. 3: viii + 386 pages, full decorative calf with raised bands and panels with maroon and black spine title labels; marbled endpapers and fore-edges.
